Elite Mission Hospital has served Thrissur and central Kerala since 1979. The hospital is led by its managing partners, medical superintendents and directors, who between them cover ENT, ophthalmology, radiology, general medicine, orthopaedics, operations, IT, finance and marketing. Four of them form the third generation of the family and professionals who have run the hospital since 1979.
Dr. Prakasan is a managing partner of Elite Mission Hospital and an ENT specialist who has consulted here for many years. Alongside his clinical work, he has guided the hospital’s growth from a community hospital into the multispeciality centre it is today. He consults in the ENT outpatient department from Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Dr. Mohandas is a managing partner and consultant ophthalmologist. He has shared responsibility for the hospital’s direction and investment decisions over the years in which its specialities and facilities expanded. He consults in the ophthalmology outpatient department from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 AM.
Dr. Pyarelal is the medical superintendent and heads the department of radiodiagnosis and imaging. He took his MBBS at JJM Medical College, Davangere in 1990 and his MD in Radiodiagnosis at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1995, and has practised radiology for close to three decades.
He led the installation of a superconducting MRI at Elite Mission Hospital in 1996, when MRI was still rare in private hospitals in Kerala, and has reinvested in the department steadily since, across MRI, CT, ultrasound and digital radiography. In December 2023 he led the introduction of AI-assisted MRI reporting. His clinical interests are neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging.
Dr. Rakesh is a medical superintendent and consultant physician, and represents the third generation of leadership at Elite Mission Hospital. He completed his MBBS at Dr. MGR Medical University, Tamil Nadu in 1996 and his MD in General Medicine at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka in 2000, and holds postgraduate diplomas in geriatric medicine and diabetes mellitus as well as a fellowship in intensive care medicine. He consults in general medicine from Monday to Saturday, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Dr. Abhishek is a director of the hospital, an orthopaedic surgeon, and part of the third generation of leadership at Elite Mission Hospital. He completed his MBBS at JJM Medical College, Karnataka in 2005 and his MS in Orthopaedics at Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Chidambaram. He consults in the orthopaedics outpatient department from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Siddharth Vijayaraghavan is director of operations and IT, and part of the third generation of leadership at Elite Mission Hospital. He is responsible for the hospital’s day-to-day operations and for its information systems, including the hospital information system that supports clinical and administrative work.
Harishankar Pyarelal is director of finance and marketing, and part of the third generation of leadership at Elite Mission Hospital. He is responsible for the hospital’s finances and for how it reaches and communicates with the community it serves.
